I am Judith Janssen, just 50 (goal is of course fit50!) and come from Prinsenbeek. My whole life driven and passionate about equestrian sports, discipline eventing at international level with various horses.
6 years ago, I was out of the competition circuit for a year due to injuries to several horses and was fortunately able to release my energy in running. But due to the enormous condition I had acquired in equestrian sports, I felt like I could run all day long. Physically, my body was not ready for such a strain and therefore suffered a fracture in my fibula.
During a party on my crutches I was approached by a Personal Trainer/co-owner of Fitmasters in Breda. They were experts in making athletes able to bear weight again. Even before I was out of the cast, I had already reported to them. Fitmasters organised participation in AGR and various marathons.
And so it happened and I became obsessed with running and cycling and I said goodbye to horse riding.
Obsessed with running and cycling

I have a wholesale/distribution in equestrian articles, JRS. We import from various European countries and sell to retail in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany and several other European countries. We have been around for 21 years now and the team consists of 25 enthusiastic, young and driven employees.
Healthy and tasty food
In 2022 I finally found a responsible, gut-friendly snack for during sports!!! I used to make them myself but that is no longer necessary!
What role does healthy eating and sports nutrition play in your (sports) life?
Extremely important! Without is not an option. At least not for the long intensive endurance efforts! In order to be able to make a good eating plan during the Marmotte des Alpes, I went to a sports dietician at the time. There it became clear to me very quickly that the right and good food in the right quantity is incredibly important to be able to perform during long endurance efforts.
But also in the training sessions that precede this, nutrition is incredibly important to me. Both during the training days and on the (rest) days in between
Goals
My current sports are cycling and running. My goals for 2023 are:
• Tokyo marathon under 3:30 and collect the six-star medal
• Marathon of the Dolomites
• Multi-day cycling tour through the Pyrenees or gravel tour
• Stay fit and resilient
• Get stronger with climbing (on the bike)
Of course there is the focus during the competition, you have worked hard for that and then you go for it 100%. To achieve this everything has to come together on the day itself.
The vision and mission of Kalkman appeals to me very much, the combination of performance and enjoyment, this is exactly what I try to do every day, with my work, as a family man and as an athlete. Nowadays there are many 'unnatural' products in our food, I do not think this is a good development. That is why I am happy that I also get healthy and natural food during healthy sports, and this is precisely possible with Kalkman products.
In the coming years I want to continue to get the best out of myself, continue to run PRs, also run a marathon abroad every year... but above all enjoy all the kilometers on the way to the finish line!
