Hille Steenhuis

My name is Hille Steenhuis, I'm 23 years old and live in Amsterdam East. I grew up surrounded by sports and exercise: cycling and skating have been important parts of my life from a young age. What started as a competitive sport has now blossomed into a deep love for sports, driven by joy and passion.

In addition to my own training, I work as a trainer, journalist, photographer and content creator in the sports world.

Together with my father I wrote the book Hongerklop (Hungry Knock), in which I describe my recovery from anorexia, heart surgery and my way back to sports.

Good energy

In my free time, I'm almost always outdoors: cycling, running through the park, or skating at the ice rink. For me, exercise is no longer a must, but a way of life.

I get positive energy from exercising without pressure to perform, from being outdoors, and from the feeling that sport makes me stronger and happier. For me, sports offer freedom: long bike rides through nature, a good run, or a good skating workout give me peace of mind.

I also get a lot of energy from inspiring others, especially young athletes, by showing that fun and health are always more important than perfect performance or an ideal body.

Goals

My greatest passion is cycling. I ride on the road, gravel, and mountain bikes, both in the Netherlands and abroad, with a special love for Switzerland.

I also skate and inline skate a lot, and I run, swim, and do strength training. These sports complement each other perfectly and allow me to enjoy exercise year-round.

My goal is to continue sharing the joy of sports. No longer as a top athlete, but as an enthusiastic and happy amateur. I want to show people that you can be strong, healthy, and athletic in your own way. With my training sessions, my book, and my social media content, I want to inspire others to move with a passion for sports.
