A Gran Fondo requires a little more than your usual preparation.

Often during a Gran Fondo we forget when and what to eat and drink, which can reduce your riding enjoyment. With the challenge of the long distance and intensity of such a climb, it is essential to keep your energy levels up. Typically you aim for an intake of 60g carbohydrates per hour and 1000ml of fluid per hour. High temperatures are important to keep an eye on. Our handy portion packs contain approximately 15g carbohydrates each, so with 1 Energy Bite, 1 Energy Shot and 2 bottles of Hydro Drink you reach the 60g per hour. Always take into account individual factors such as body weight and weather conditions. And definitely eat during a warm-up ride or the day before the big climb, this helps with your recovery the next day.
